Washed Tobacco Cotton Twill Single-Pleat Shorts
Drake's made these shorts for warm weather, cut in an Italian cotton twill and given a washed finish in a tobacco brown. They borrow the construction of tailored trousers, with a single pleat, a mid-rise and a neat leg, so the result is a short with a sartorial character. They are meant for a broad range of summer dress, from a polo shirt to a button-down and loafers.

Di Sondrio Walnut Stretch Chino
We chose a walnut brown cotton twill from Tessuti di Sondrio, an Italian mill, because it is close to the warm mid-brown of the original and has the same plain, solid twill surface. We set single pleats, belt loops, a button fastening with zip fly and horn buttons in a chestnut tone to match the dark horn button of the Drake's pair. Proper Cloth's chino pattern offers side seam pockets rather than slant pockets, and no side adjusters, so we used side seam pockets and belt loops alone. The order is recorded as a chino with a standard hem, and the cloth is not given a washed finish.
A solid walnut brown cotton twill woven by Tessuti di Sondrio in Italy, with 2% elastane for some give. It is a medium heavyweight cloth with a smooth, firm hand and enough structure to hold a pleat, suited to wear through most of the year.
