Black Tropical Wool Single-Pleat Dinner Trousers
Drake's makes these dinner trousers in Italy from black tropical merino, as the partner to its matching dinner jacket. They follow the house mid-rise cut, with a single pleat at the front for ease and a gentle taper below the knee. The detailing comes from traditional evening tailoring: a satin stripe down each outseam, side adjusters in place of belt loops, an extended front tab and a small split at the rear hem. They are intended for black tie and the party season, and they ship unhemmed so the length can be set to the wearer.

Black Stretch Wool Tuxedo Pant
We chose a black tropical wool from Marzotto, an Italian mill, because its open plain weave comes close to the light, dry cloth of the original. We set single pleats, an extended button tab with a zip fly, dark faux horn buttons and side seam pockets to follow the Drake's front. The design as made uses belt loops rather than side adjusters, and a knee lining rather than a half lining. It also leaves out the curtained waistband, French bearer and rear split, none of which appear in the specification as made.
A black tropical wool from Marzotto in Italy, made of merino with a small share of elastane for stretch. The open plain weave has a slightly textured surface and breathes well in warm rooms. At 275 g it is medium in weight, so it suits wear across the year as well as in summer.
