ALD / Drake's Wool Fresco Suit Trouser
This is the trouser half of a suit made with ALD, cut in a warm rust brown fresco and sold alongside a matching jacket. It follows Drake's mid-rise house pattern, with a single pleat, an extended front tab with French-bearer buttoning, and a gentle taper below the knee. The open, high-twist cloth is meant to keep its shape and breathe, so the trouser can be worn through most of the year, either with its jacket or on its own. It is made in Italy and comes with unfinished hems for tailoring to length.

Drago Tobacco S130s Tropical Wool Suit
We chose Drago's tobacco tropical wool because it is the closest solid brown in a light, open plain weave that Proper Cloth offers, and its slightly varied colour comes near the warmth of the rust fresco. We set the trouser to match the original's waistband and front: single pleats, an extended button tab with zip fly, belt loops, side seam pockets, buttoned rear pockets and dark brown horn buttons. Proper Cloth has no true high-twist fresco in this shade, so we accepted a finer, smoother S130s tropical at a slightly lower weight, and the trouser is made to measure with a plain uncuffed hem rather than left unfinished.
A tropical plain weave in S130s merino from Drago, a family-owned mill in Biella, Italy, at around 220 g. It has a smooth, soft hand and a light, open structure that lets air through, in a solid tobacco brown with gentle tonal variation. The cloth is described as resisting creases, though it is finer and less crisp than a fresco.
