Sand Cotton Twill Single-Pleat Shorts
A pair of warm-weather shorts in a sand cotton twill, cut with a single forward pleat, a mid rise and a neat leg that stops above the knee. The idea is to bring trouser tailoring to a casual summer garment, so the shorts have belt loops, side adjusters and a zip fly. They are made in Portugal from Italian cloth, and they suit anything from a polo shirt to a lightweight button-down worn with loafers.

Di Sondrio Khaki Heavyweight Heirloom Chino
We chose a solid khaki cotton twill from Tessuti di Sondrio because it is close to the original's sand colour, solid face and all-cotton twill weave. We kept the single pleat, belt loops, zip fly, horn buttons and plain hem. Proper Cloth's record lists the garment as a chino trouser, not a short. It has no side adjusters, so we used a buttoned tab at the waistband, and the cloth is much heavier than the Drake's midweight twill.
A very heavy cotton twill of about 535 g from Tessuti di Sondrio in Italy. It has a dense three-ply weave and a smooth finish. It is a plain khaki without pattern, and its weight makes it a durable, substantial cloth that sits best with heavier shirts and knitwear.
