Oatmeal Cotton Corduroy Fatigue Shorts
Drake's made these shorts for warm weather, cut from Italian cotton needlecord in a pale oatmeal shade. The neat leg, mid-rise and split hems at the outseam give them a tailored line. The pointed patch pockets and copper rivets come from military fatigue trousers and give them a working character. They are made in Portugal and are meant as smart summer shorts, worn with a belt.

Italian Stone Cotton Corduroy 5-Pocket Pant
We chose Proper Cloth's Italian stone corduroy because it is the closest match among its all-cotton cords for colour and cloth. Like the original it is a solid, undyed-looking pale neutral. We set fatigue front and back pockets, a zip fly with a metal tack button, belt loops and a flat front to follow Drake's design. Proper Cloth offers this cloth as a full-length trouser with a standard hem and no copper rivets, and its cord has a broader 12-wale, much heavier cloth than Drake's needlecord. We accepted these changes rather than move to a cloth further from the original's colour.
A heavy Italian corduroy in 100% cotton, with a 12-wale pile, weighing about 525 g. It is a solid stone colour with a soft, velvety hand. Because it has no stretch fibre, it should soften and fade with wear.
