Olive Cotton Twill Single-Pleat Shorts
Drake's single-pleat shorts take the cut of a tailored summer trouser and shorten it, keeping the pleat, the side adjusters and the clean waist. They are made in Italy from a cotton twill in a muted olive, with a neat leg and a mid rise. The pleated front gives them a more dressed look than most shorts, so they sit as easily with a polo shirt as with a button-down shirt and loafers.

Olive Reverse Sateen Faded Fatigue Pant
We chose a faded olive reverse sateen from Japan because it was the closest solid olive cotton available, and it has a soft, slightly uneven surface rather than the plain face of the original twill. We kept the details that define the original: single pleats, side seam pockets, a button and zip fly, belt loops and horn buttons. Proper Cloth offers this cloth as a full-length trouser, so the piece is a trouser and not shorts. In place of side adjusters we used a buttoned tab at the waistband with belt loops.
A Japanese reverse sateen in a faded olive green, woven with the matt back of a sateen turned outward, which gives it a dry surface with a faint texture. At about 325 g it is a fairly heavy casual cloth, mostly cotton with 2% elastane for a little give, and it is meant to soften and fade further as it is worn.
