Olive Cotton Drawstring Trousers
These are relaxed cotton trousers whose design takes its cue from American athletic clothing of the mid twentieth century. A flat drawstring runs through an elasticated waist, the leg is straight and the front is plain, so they sit between a chino and a training trouser. They are made in Portugal from a midweight cotton twill and are meant for casual, unhurried dressing in a British climate.

Di Sondrio Pine Stretch Chinos
We chose a pine green cotton twill from Tessuti di Sondrio because it comes close to the colour, weave and substantial weight of the original. We set a flat front, angled side pockets, square patch back pockets, horn buttons, a standard hem and an elasticated waistband with a drawstring. Proper Cloth offers the drawstring only inside the waistband and closes the front with a zip, so we accepted both rather than the exposed drawstring and button fly of the original.
A medium heavyweight cotton twill woven by Tessuti di Sondrio, an Italian mill with around 120 years of history, with 2% elastane added for some give. It is a plain pine green with the smooth, firm handle of a chino cloth and is intended for wear across all four seasons.
