Khaki Cotton Flat Front Chino
Drake's flat-front chino draws on the military and work trousers of the mid-century, when chinos were cut with a generous leg and worn high on the waist. The design keeps the practical side of that history, with side adjusters next to the belt loops and plain vertical pockets. The leg is full through the thigh and narrows gently below the knee, and the rise sits just above the hip. It is cut from a substantial Italian cotton twill and made in Portugal, and it is meant to be washed and worn regularly through the year.

Olive Reverse Sateen Faded Fatigue Pant
We chose a Japanese faded olive reverse sateen because its weight and dry, slightly rustic surface come closer to a sturdy washed chino than a smooth dress cotton would, and its colour sits close to the olive end of the original's khaki. We used Proper Cloth's vintage chino pattern with a plain flat front, vertical side seam pockets, belt loops, a button and zip fly and a standard hem, which matches the original's main lines. Proper Cloth's options do not include side adjusters alongside belt loops, so we went with belt loops alone. The cloth has a small amount of elastane, which we accepted because the share is low.
A Japanese reverse sateen at about 325 g, woven so that the matte, faintly textured back of the sateen forms the face, which gives it a dry hand rather than a sheen. It is a plain faded olive green, cotton with 2% elastane, and should soften and fade further with washing.
