Navy Lightweight Cotton Canvas Five-Pocket Jeans
A navy five-pocket trouser cut from cotton canvas rather than denim, built on the familiar jeans pattern but given a cleaner, drier cloth. The canvas is a lightweight French cotton of 9.73oz, and the trousers are made in Portugal. The cut is slim through a straight leg with a mid-rise, so they can be worn with casual and smarter pieces alike.

Biella Navy Stretch Moleskin 5-Pocket
We kept the navy colour, the solid surface and the full five-pocket layout with copper hardware. Proper Cloth had no lightweight cotton canvas in navy that fitted this design, so we chose a navy cotton moleskin, which keeps a plain, matt face but is softer and noticeably heavier. We set the copper tack buttons, belt loops, coin pocket and chainstitched hem to follow the jeans pattern of the original.
A navy moleskin from the Progetto Uno mill near Venice, part of the Olympias Group, in 97% cotton with 3% elastane. It is a dense, brushed cotton of medium to heavy weight with a smooth, suede-like hand and a small amount of give. Moleskin is warm and hard-wearing, and its nap softens with wear.
