Olive Cotton Corduroy Field Games Trousers
Drake's made these trousers to go with its Field Games Blazer, so that the two can be worn together as a relaxed corduroy suit somewhere between tailoring and workwear. The cut follows mid-century trousers, with a high rise, a full leg through the thigh and single pleats, narrowing gently towards the hem. Side adjusters, belt loops and a small concealed fob pocket add practical detail. They are made in Italy and can be worn with the matching jacket or on their own.
In Proper Cloth
Stratton Fatigue Stretch Corduroy
We picked a solid fatigue green corduroy because it is the closest Proper Cloth cloth to the olive of the original. We gave it single pleats, a zip fly with an extended button-through tab, belt loops and horn buttons to match the Drake's front. Proper Cloth does not offer side adjusters or a concealed fob pocket, so we used belt loops alone, an angled flap back pocket and a standard coin pocket. The cloth is a lighter stretch corduroy, because no all-cotton cloth at the original's heavy weight was available in a matching colour.
The cloth is a Spanish-woven 13-wale corduroy of 98% cotton and 2% elastane, at around 345 g. It is a plain fatigue green with a soft, velvety pile and a small amount of give, and it is suited to autumn and winter wear.
