Navy Wool Flannel Single Pleat Trouser
This is a tailored trouser in navy wool flannel, cut to the house mid-rise with a single pleat at each side of the front for ease of movement. Below the knee the leg narrows gently, which keeps the line clean. The waist carries the quieter details of traditional trouser making: an extended tab, an internal French bearer, a curtained waistband and side adjusters where belt loops would usually be. It is made in Italy, is also sold with a flat front or as part of a suit, and suits both a jacket and a knit.

Single Pleated VBC Navy Wool Flannel Dress Pant
We chose a solid navy merino flannel from an Italian mill because it matches the colour, brushed surface and fibre of the original. We set the single forward pleat, the extended button tab with zip fly, side seam pockets and a plain uncuffed hem to follow the Drake's trouser. The design as made uses belt loops rather than side adjusters and a knee lining rather than a half lining, and its dark grey horn buttons replace the navy-toned ones.
A solid navy merino wool flannel woven by Vitale Barberis Canonico in Biella, Italy, at 340 g. It has a soft, brushed, slightly fuzzy face and enough body for autumn and winter wear.
