Navy Pinstripe Wool-Linen Single-Pleat Trouser
Drake's treats this as its house trouser, the half of a suit that can also be worn on its own. It sits at a mid-rise with a single reverse pleat, and the leg drops cleanly to a gentle taper, so it reads as sharp without being narrow. The cloth comes from a Biella mill and blends wool with linen, which gives it a dry, airy quality for summer tailoring. It is finished in the Italian manner, with side adjusters instead of belt loops, an extended tab, curtaining at the waist and a split at the back of the hem.

Navy Pinstripe S130s Wool Dress Pant
We chose a navy pinstripe twill from Drago because it matches the original's colour, fine stripe and twill face most closely, although it is pure merino and not a wool-linen blend. We set a single pleat, an extended button tab with zip fly, dark brown horn buttons, side seam pockets and a striped knee lining to follow the Drake's construction. Proper Cloth's build here uses belt loops and a plain hem with no after-dinner split, so the waist is worn with a belt and not with side adjusters, and a coin pocket is added.
A navy twill in S130s merino wool woven by Drago in Italy, with a fine pinstripe. At around 330 g it is a medium heavyweight cloth with a smooth, close hand. It drapes and holds a crease in the way fine worsted does, and it suits cooler months better than high summer.
