Blue Linen Drawstring Shorts
Drake's drawstring shorts take their lead from American athletic clothing of the mid-century, when shorts were cut plainly and built to last. They are made in Portugal from a dense Japanese linen that is dyed and washed after sewing, so the colour and texture already look settled. The high rise and flat drawstring give them a period look, and they are made for warm weather, in town or by the sea.
In Proper Cloth
Navy Linen Palermo Pant
We chose a navy pure linen in plain weave, woven in Portugal, as the nearest solid blue linen of medium weight that Proper Cloth offers. We matched the drawstring elastic waist, the angled front pockets, the flat front without pleats and a single buttoned rear pocket. Proper Cloth offers this design as a full-length trouser with a standard hem, so ours is not cut as a short and has no curved athletic hem. Slate horn buttons stand in for mother of pearl, and the cloth is not garment dyed.
A 100% linen in plain weave, woven in Portugal, in a solid navy of medium weight. It is soft to the touch, shows the slub and texture of linen openly, and creases easily with wear for a relaxed look.
