Navy Cotton Drill Flat Front Trouser
Drake's flat-front trouser in navy cotton drill is cut to the house's mid rise, slim through the thigh and narrowing gently below the knee. It comes from tailoring rather than workwear, with an extended front tab, a curtained waistband, an internal French bearer and a split at the back of the waistband, and it is half lined. Made in Italy and sent out with open hems for finishing to length, it is meant for wear through the year, either alone or with the matching jacket as a suit.

Navy Cadet Chino
We chose a plain navy cotton twill so the colour and the dense, matt surface of the drill would carry over, although the cloth is heavier than the original. We kept the flat front, belt loops, zip fly and a tab front fastening with a brown horn button. Proper Cloth builds this chino with a one-piece waistband and flat-felled seams, so the curtained waistband, French bearer, after-dinner split and half lining have no direct counterpart. Its pockets are set in the side seams, which is the closest option to Drake's vertical front pockets.
A navy two-ply cotton twill woven in Portugal, weighing about 325 g (9.6 oz). It is a left-hand twill, which drapes a little more softly than a right-hand weave of the same weight. The cloth is firm and holds its shape when new, and it softens gradually with washing.
