Navy Mid-Wale Corduroy Flat Front Trouser
A flat-front corduroy trouser cut to Drake's mid-rise house pattern, made in Italy. The leg is slim and narrows gently below the knee, which keeps the line clean. The finishing follows tailored trousers rather than casual ones: an extended tab front, a curtained waistband and an after-dinner split at the back. It is meant to be worn through most of the year, alone or with the matching jacket as a suit.

Italian Navy Corduroy 5-Pocket Pant
We chose a solid navy Italian cotton corduroy to keep the colour and the all-cotton cloth of the original, although it is a good deal heavier. We built it as a dress trouser rather than as the five-pocket cut it is sold under, with a flat front, side seam pockets, belt loops, zip fly and a tab with a button through it, to follow the Drake's front. Horn buttons in slate stand in for the horn-tone closure. Our options did not list half lining, a curtained waistband, French bearer buttoning, an after-dinner split or a prong keeper, so the waistband is the standard chino type, and the trouser is finished with a blind hem instead of arriving unhemmed.
The cloth is a 100% cotton corduroy woven in Italy, in solid navy with a soft, velvety 12-wale cord. At 525 g it is very heavy, with a dense, substantial feel. Because it contains no stretch fibre, it should soften and take on a patina as it is worn.
