Ecru Linen Single-Pleat Shorts
Drake's single-pleat shorts take the cut of a tailored summer trouser and shorten it, keeping the pleat, the mid-rise and the neat leg that give them a dressed appearance. They are made in Italy from an Irish linen chosen for its breathability. The design is meant to sit comfortably between casual and smart, so the shorts can be worn with a polo, a light button-down shirt or loafers.

Portuguese Ivory Linen Palermo Pant
We chose a plain-weave ivory linen woven in Portugal, the closest solid pale linen in the Proper Cloth range to Drake's ecru, and relied on its natural slub texture to give the same summery look. We made it up in the chino pattern with a single pleat, angled side pockets, belt loops and a zip fly with a button closure, to follow the original's tailored front. Proper Cloth's chino has no side adjusters, so the waist is held by belt loops alone, and we used light brown horn buttons in place of the tortoiseshell-effect ones.
A 100% linen in a plain weave, woven in Portugal and listed as medium weight, with a soft, broken-in hand. It is a solid ivory that shows the irregular texture of the yarn, and it creases readily with wear, as linen does.
