Brown Corduroy Cotton Officer’s Chino
Drake's officer's chino brings together the house fatigue trouser and its chino, so it mixes utility details with a relaxed, everyday cut. The high waist, the coin pocket and the full leg that narrows gently towards the hem come from the Games Trouser. Rear pockets and reinforced pocket bags make it more practical. This version is cut in a Japanese dry cotton corduroy, made in Portugal, and it is meant for casual wear in any season.
In Proper Cloth
Stratton Hazel Stretch Corduroy
We chose a solid hazel corduroy as the closest Proper Cloth match to the tobacco brown of the original, at a similar or slightly heavier weight. We kept the flat front, button fly, belt loops and coin pocket, and we added a buttoned flap on the back pocket to match the utility of the rear. We set a wide hem to give a fuller leg. Proper Cloth had no all-cotton wide-wale corduroy in this colour, so we accepted a finer 13-wale cloth with a small amount of elastane.
A Spanish-woven 13-wale corduroy in 98% cotton and 2% elastane, weighing about 345 g. It has a soft, velvety pile and a slight stretch. It is a solid warm hazel brown, and it suits autumn and winter better than warm weather.
