Grey Nailhead Linen-Wool Single Pleat Trouser
This is Drake's house trouser, cut with a mid-rise and a single reverse pleat on each leg, so the leg falls straight and tapers slightly. The cloth is a heavy linen and wool nailhead woven in Prato, chosen for the dry texture of linen and the warmth and spring of wool. The finishing is traditional tailoring: an extended front tab, side adjusters instead of belt loops, a curtained waistband and an after-dinner split at the back. It is a tailored trouser that also works in more casual dress.

Grey Textured Stretch Wool Dress Pant
We wanted a grey cloth with a fine, close texture that would read as a near solid from a distance, much like the nailhead. A Marzotto melange wool with a small square weave came closest. We matched the single pleats, the extended button tab, dark grey horn buttons, the zip fly and the knee lining. The design as made has belt loops and standard rear pockets rather than side adjusters and twin button-through pockets, and it has no after-dinner split, so on those points this version is plainer than the original.
A medium-heavy grey melange wool woven by Marzotto in Italy, with a small amount of elastane. Its even, square weave gives a tiny check effect up close and a varied solid grey from further away. The finish is matte with little shine, and the elastane adds some give for comfort.
