Tobacco Japanese Selvedge Needlecord Five-Pocket Trousers
Drake's five-pocket trouser applies the familiar jeans pattern to a fine-wale needlecord, so it reads softer than denim. The cotton is a Japanese selvedge corduroy, and the trousers are made in Portugal. They have a mid-rise and a slim, straight leg, with slanted front pockets and copper rivets. They are meant to be worn casually with a wide range of knitwear, shirts and jackets.

Stratton Hazel Stretch Corduroy
We chose a warm brown corduroy to match the tobacco shade, and set the cut as a flat-front five-pocket trouser. We added jeans-style patch back pockets, a coin pocket, belt loops and copper metal hardware. Proper Cloth offers no selvedge needlecord, so we used a 13-wale stretch corduroy. Its cord is broader and the cloth is heavier, and it carries a small amount of elastane. The hem is finished with a chain stitch.
The cloth is a 13-wale corduroy in a solid hazel brown, woven in Spain from 98% cotton and 2% elastane. At 345 g it is a medium-heavy cloth with a soft, velvety pile and a little give. It is suited to autumn and winter wear.
