Brown Japanese Selvedge Needlecord Five-Pocket Trousers
Drake's five-pocket trousers take the familiar jeans pattern and make it up in brown needlecord, a finer corduroy than most. The cloth is a Japanese selvedge cotton and the trousers are made in Portugal. The cut is straight, with slanted front pockets and copper rivets, so they keep the plain usefulness of jeans while the soft corded surface gives them a little more warmth and texture. They are meant to be worn casually through the cooler months, much as a pair of denim jeans would be.

Italian Dark Brown Cotton Corduroy 5-Pocket Pant
We looked for a solid brown all-cotton corduroy and chose an Italian cord in dark brown. It keeps the colour and the soft piled face of the original, but its wale is broader and the cloth is much heavier. We set the design to the five-pocket pattern with a coin pocket, jeans-style patch back pockets, a zip fly, belt loops, no pleats and copper tack buttons. Proper Cloth offered no Japanese selvedge needlecord, so we accepted the heavier Italian cord, and we finished the hem with a chain stitch.
A heavy Italian corduroy in 100% cotton, weighing around 525 g, with a soft, velvety 12-wale surface in a solid dark brown. There is no stretch in it, so it should soften and take on a worn character with time and wear.
