Dark Grey Fresco® Wool Single-Pleat Trouser
This is the house trouser from Drake's, cut here in a dark grey fresco wool. It has a mid-rise and a single reverse pleat on each leg for ease, and the leg runs straight with a slight taper. The finishing follows tailoring practice: an extended front tab with a French bearer inside, side adjusters in place of belt loops, a curtained waistband and a split at the back of the hem. It is a dress trouser that can be worn with tailoring or with knitwear.

Loro Piana Fabric Grey Sopra Visso Fresco Dress Pant
We picked a solid grey Loro Piana fresco because it is a dry, open, plain-weave wool of similar weight, which keeps the original's crisp, airy character. We matched the single pleats, the extended button tab with zip fly, the side seam pockets, the buttoned rear pocket and the lining to the knee, and we chose dark grey horn buttons to go with the cloth. Proper Cloth's options gave belt loops instead of side adjusters, so this version has loops. The hem is finished without a cuff instead of being sent unhemmed.
The cloth is Loro Piana's Sopra Visso fresco, woven in Italy. It is a plain-weave pure wool weighing 345 g, firm and slightly dry in the hand, as fresco usually is. It is a solid grey. The open weave lets air through and recovers well from creasing, so it wears in most seasons.
