St. JOHN by Drake's Olive Cotton Fatigue Trouser
This is an olive cotton fatigue trouser from Drake's St. JOHN line, based on mid-century military field trousers. Reinforced front pockets and copper rivets keep it close to its service origins. A high rise, a full thigh and a gentle taper below the knee give it an older shape. It is made in Portugal from a substantial Japanese cotton that softens with washing, and it is meant to be worn in any season as a plain, practical everyday trouser.

Olive Reverse Sateen Faded Fatigue Pant
We chose a faded olive Japanese reverse sateen because it comes closest to the original's colour and weight, and its slightly rough, matte surface gives a similar worn, utilitarian look. We set the cut to Proper Cloth's high-rise vintage chino with fatigue front pockets, a button-flap fatigue back pocket, belt loops, a zip fly and a flat front, so the main features match. Proper Cloth offers no copper rivets or embroidered motif, so we used mid-brown horn buttons alone, which echo the brown buttons on the original. The fit is straight rather than tapered.
A Japanese reverse sateen of about 325 g, woven from 98% cotton and 2% elastane. The back of the sateen weave is used as the face, so the surface is matte and lightly textured rather than smooth. It is a solid olive with a faded tone, and it should soften and mellow further with washing.
