Olive Cotton-Linen Herringbone Fatigue Shorts
Drake's fatigue shorts take their cue from mid-century military field clothing, where pockets were built to carry a load and closures were made to last. The design keeps those working details, with reinforced patch pockets and copper rivets, and cuts them with a full leg and a high rise that sits just above the hip. Made in Portugal from a cotton and linen herringbone, they are meant as hot-weather shorts with a utilitarian character, worn with a belt.

Olive Reverse Sateen Faded Fatigue Pant
Proper Cloth did not offer a matching cotton-linen herringbone in olive, so we chose its Japanese faded olive reverse sateen. It is close in colour and has a broken, textured surface that stands in for the herringbone's visual grain. We kept the fatigue character through the large front patch pockets, flapped back pockets, metal tack buttons, zip fly and belt loops, and chose the vintage chino cut for a fuller leg. Proper Cloth's casual trousers come in full length, so this version is a pair of trousers rather than shorts.
A Japanese reverse sateen at about 325 g, mostly cotton with 2% elastane, which makes it a medium-heavy cloth with a firm, dense hand and a small amount of give. The faded olive is a plain colour, and the reverse sateen face gives it a slightly rustic surface. It should soften and fade further as it is worn and washed.
