Stone Wash 14.2oz Japanese Selvedge Denim Five-Pocket Jeans
Drake's five-pocket jeans are cut from a 14.2oz selvedge denim woven on shuttle looms in Okayama and dyed with natural indigo, then made up in Portugal. The pattern follows the classic work jean but sits slightly higher at the rise and runs relaxed through the leg before tapering to the hem. Slanted front pockets, copper rivets and rivets hidden inside the back pockets set it apart from a standard pair. The jeans are pre-washed and stone-washed, so they arrive already faded at the seams and thighs and are meant to be worn as everyday casual trousers.

Dean Stretch Relaxed Jean in Dark Wash Japanese Denim
We chose a dark indigo Japanese denim from Proper Cloth's relaxed jean range to match the solid indigo and the easy cut of the original. We set a five-pocket layout with jeans-style patch back pockets, a metal button fly, metal buttons, belt loops, no pleats and a chain-stitched hem. Proper Cloth does not offer the original's slanted pockets, copper rivets or stone-wash fading, so we kept the standard five-pocket pattern and a darker wash. The cloth is lighter at 12oz and carries 2% elastane, which stays within the stretch tolerance we allow.
A Japanese-woven 12oz indigo denim in a dark wash, made of 98% cotton with 2% elastane for a little give. It is a solid, mid-weight denim that wears comfortably across most of the year and holds the shape of a fuller cut.
