Brown Cotton Corduroy Single Pleat Trouser
Drake's house trouser is cut here in a dark brown Italian corduroy, with a mid-rise and a single reverse pleat at each side. The cut has a clean, gently tapered leg that is sharp without being slim, and it draws on the tailored trouser more than on the work trouser. The details are tailoring details: side adjusters instead of belt loops, an extended tab front with an internal French bearer, a curtained waistband and an after-dinner split at the back. It is a cold-weather trouser that softens with wear, and it suits casual jackets and knitwear equally well.

Italian Dark Brown Cotton Corduroy 5-Pocket Pant
We chose a heavy Italian corduroy in pure cotton in a similar dark brown, so the trouser keeps the original's colour and its rich pile. We made it to a chino pattern and set it to match where we could: a single pleat, side seam pockets, a button and zip front, and horn buttons in a close brown. Proper Cloth's options do not include side adjusters, so we used belt loops. The hem is finished to length, where Drake's ships unfinished.
This is a heavy 100% cotton corduroy woven in Italy, weighing about 525 g, with a soft, velvety 12-wale pile in solid dark brown. With no stretch fibre in it, the cloth should take on a patina and soften with wear.
