Drake's by A. Levine Black Stone Wash 12.3oz Selvedge Denim Five-Pocket Jeans
A limited run of black five-pocket jeans made with A. Levine, cut from Japanese selvedge denim woven on shuttle looms in Okayama and coloured with a natural dye. The design takes the classic workwear jean and gives it a slightly higher rise, a relaxed leg that tapers towards the hem, and front pockets set at a slant. The stone wash softens the black from new, so the jeans can be worn casually from the first day. They are made in Portugal.

Dean Stretch Relaxed Jean in Charcoal Wash Japanese Denim
We chose a Japanese 12oz denim in a grey charcoal wash, the closest Proper Cloth offers to a washed black, at nearly the same weight as the original. We set the five-pocket layout, zip fly, belt loops, copper tack buttons and gold topstitching to follow the original's workwear details, and picked the relaxed fit for its room through the hip and thigh. The cloth carries a small amount of elastane and is not listed as selvedge. Proper Cloth also has no slanted front pocket or hidden back rivets, so we kept the standard jean pockets.
A 12oz denim woven in Japan, in a washed grey shade close to charcoal, made of 98% cotton with 2% elastane for a little give. It is a mid-weight denim that can be worn for most of the year and keeps its structure in a fuller cut.
