Russet Cotton Corduroy Games Trousers
Drake's made these trousers to go with its Games Blazer. Worn together, the two make a casual suit that sits somewhere between tailoring and workwear. The cut is relaxed, with a high rise that sits just above the hip, single pleats and a full leg that narrows slightly below the knee, giving a mid-century shape. Side adjusters, belt loops and a concealed fob pocket keep the trousers practical, and they are meant to be worn through the year, either alone or with the matching jacket.
In Proper Cloth
Stratton Brown Stretch Corduroy
We chose a warm brown solid corduroy, the closest match in Proper Cloth's range to the russet colour and ribbed texture of the original. We matched the single pleats, belt loops, button and zip fly, and plain hem. Proper Cloth has no 8 wale cotton cord or side adjusters, so we used a finer 13 wale cloth with a little stretch and a button-through tab at the waistband. Angled side pockets, a coin pocket and slate horn buttons were the closest available details.
A 13 wale corduroy woven in Spain from 98% cotton and 2% elastane, weighing about 345 g. It has a soft, velvety pile in a deep, warm brown. The small amount of stretch makes it comfortable, and it suits autumn and winter wear.
