Brown Mid-Wale Corduroy Single Pleat Trouser
Drake's mid-wale corduroy trouser is cut to the house's mid-rise pattern, with a single forward pleat for ease of movement and a gentle taper below the knee. It draws on traditional tailored trouser making. Side adjusters take the place of belt loops, and inside there is a French bearer and a curtained waistband. It is made in Italy, half lined and sent out unhemmed, and it can be worn on its own or as part of a matching suit.

Stratton Brown Stretch Corduroy
We chose a solid brown cotton corduroy from Proper Cloth whose 13-wale cord comes close to the original's mid-wale texture and warm colour. We kept the single pleat, the extended tab with button and zip fly, and horn buttons. Proper Cloth's chino pattern has no side adjusters, so we used belt loops. The only cloth in the right colour and wale contains a little elastane, which is within our tolerance.
A Spanish-woven 13-wale corduroy in a warm, deep brown, made of 98% cotton and 2% elastane. At about 345 g it is on the heavier side of medium, with a soft, velvety pile and slight stretch, and it suits autumn and winter wear.
