Sand Cotton Drill Single Pleat Trouser
Drake's single pleat trouser is a mid-rise cotton drill trouser in a pale sand shade, made in Italy. It takes the construction of a tailored trouser, with an extended tab front, a curtained waistband and a split at the rear, and applies it to a hardwearing everyday cloth. The single forward pleat gives room through the hip, and the leg narrows gently below the knee. It is intended for wear through the year, on its own or with the matching jacket as a suit.

Single Pleated Di Sondrio Beige Stretch Cotton Chino
We chose a solid beige Italian cotton twill from Tessuti di Sondrio as the nearest match in colour, weave and use to the sand drill. We set a single pleat, an extended tab fastening with a button, a zip fly, belt loops, side seam pockets and brown horn buttons to follow the original's front and waist. The only cloth of this kind available carries a small amount of elastane, so the version has some stretch where the original has none. Proper Cloth finishes the hem with a blind stitch rather than shipping it unfinished, and we left out coin and cargo pockets to keep the trouser plain.
A beige cotton twill woven in Italy by Tessuti di Sondrio, with 2% elastane for a little give. It is a solid colour at a medium to heavy weight, with a smooth, firm hand that holds a crease well and suits everyday wear.
