Black Irish Linen Single Pleat Trouser
This is the trouser half of a black linen suit, cut for warm weather from a soft linen woven and dyed in Ireland. It has one forward pleat and keeps the waist clean, with side adjusters in place of belt loops and an extended front tab. Inside, it is half lined, with a curtained waistband and a French bearer, and the back of the waistband has a split. It is made in Italy and comes with the hems left unfinished, so it can be worn with its jacket or on its own in summer.

Black Linen Palermo Drawstring Pant
We chose a solid black plain-weave linen from Portugal, which comes closest to the dry, matt texture and deep colour of the Irish cloth. We built it on Proper Cloth's dress trouser pattern with a single pleat, side seam pockets, a zip fly with a button closure and dark horn buttons to stay close to the original's quiet, tonal look. Proper Cloth's options did not let us leave off belt loops in favour of side adjusters, so the waist has belt loops. The hem is blind-stitched, not left unfinished.
A 100% linen in plain weave, woven in Portugal and dyed solid black. It is soft from new, with the natural slub of linen showing on the surface. It is listed as medium weight but feels light and airy, and it creases readily as it is worn.
