White Piqué Cotton Polo Shirt
Drake's polo is a short-sleeved knit in white cotton piqué, made in Portugal. It follows the long-established tennis shirt pattern, with a two-button placket, a ribbed collar and ribbed sleeve ends. A stepped hem and mother of pearl buttons give it a slightly more finished character than a standard sports polo, so it can be worn on its own in warm weather or under a soft jacket.

Thomas Mason White Giro Inglese Weave
Proper Cloth makes woven shirts rather than knits, so we looked for a woven cloth with the open, textured surface and breathability of piqué, and chose a white cellular cotton of the kind known as giro inglese or Airtex. We built it as a popover with a soft one-piece collar and short sleeves to keep the polo outline, and matched the white colour, mother of pearl buttons and a polo hem in the spirit of the stepped hem. The ribbed collar and sleeve ends cannot be made in a woven shirt, so we used a soft unfused collar and cuffed short sleeves instead.
A white Thomas Mason cloth from the Albini mill, woven in 120s two-ply cotton with an open, diamond-shaped cellular structure. It is a medium-weight dobby that lets air through readily, with a smooth, silky hand and a slight sheen despite its texture.
