Taupe Cotton Needlecord Button-Down Shirt
A long-sleeved button-down shirt in taupe needlecord, made in Drake's own factory in Somerset. It takes the soft-rolling button-down collar, a long-standing staple of menswear, and makes it in a brushed fine-wale corduroy for the cooler months. The cut is regular, with a box pleat at the back, a single breast pocket and whipped mother of pearl buttons. It is designed to be worn with other autumn textures such as corduroy trousers, Shetland knitwear and tweed.

Ketchum Beige Cotton Corduroy
We chose a Spanish 20-wale cotton corduroy in beige as the closest match to the fine wale and soft, warm neutral of the original. We set a soft, unfused button-down collar to give a similar roll to Drake's floating interlining, and matched the front placket, one-button cuffs, curved hem and mother of pearl buttons. Proper Cloth's pocket options led us to an angled breast pocket in place of the pointed pocket with pen holder, and the design as made does not specify a box pleat at the back.
A 100% cotton 20-wale corduroy woven in Spain, constructed so that the weave itself gives some natural stretch without any elastane. It is listed as heavyweight but handles more lightly than most corduroy, closer to a soft twill, and reads as a plain beige from a distance with fine ribbing visible up close.
