White Cotton-Linen Short Sleeve Cuban Shirt
Drake's version of the guayabera, the open-collared shirt linked most closely with Cuba and worn widely across Latin America in hot weather. The design rests on its four-pocket front and the vertical pleats running down the front panels, which give the plain white cloth a measured structure. It is cut in a cotton and linen blend with short sleeves and a straight hem, intended to be worn untucked through the summer.

Madaket White Solid Seersucker
We chose a white cotton seersucker because its puckered surface comes closest to the textured, lightweight cotton-linen of the original. We matched the open one-piece collar, short sleeves, front placket, straight hem and mother-of-pearl buttons. Proper Cloth's options do not include the guayabera's four pockets or pleated front panels, so we used a single square chest pocket and a plain front.
A lightweight solid white seersucker in 100% cotton, woven from 40s yarns, with an uneven puckered stripe that keeps the cloth off the skin and lets air move beneath it. Because of that texture it is made only with soft, unfused collars, and it should wear casually, with the puckering meant to stay rather than be pressed flat.
