White Linen Mandarin Collar Popover Shirt
A white linen popover with a band collar, cut for warm weather. It draws on the collarless shirts long worn for work and leisure in summer heat, and it is built with the same single-needle seams and mother of pearl buttons as the rest of Drake's shirting. It can be worn untucked with shorts or chinos, or under a light summer suit or separates. The cloth is expected to soften and crease with wear, which is part of its character.

Baird McNutt White Irish Linen
We chose a lightweight white Irish linen from Baird McNutt because it matches the original's plain weave, solid white colour and naturally slubbed, creasing texture. We kept the grandad collar, the popover half placket, the curved hem, the one-button cuffs and the mother of pearl buttons. Proper Cloth does not offer the original's rounded cuff with floating interlining, so we used a soft one-button barrel cuff. We also put rounded flaps on the two chest pockets and added a split yoke, so this version is a little more detailed than the original.
A fine plain-weave linen in bright white, woven and finished by Baird McNutt in Northern Ireland and spun from 26s yarns. It is light and breathable, with a soft hand and the uneven slub of real linen. It creases readily and softens with washing.
