White Cotton Pocket Poplin Button-Down Shirt
Drake's white poplin button-down is a basic shirt of the English and American wardrobe, cut in plain white cotton and made at the company's own factory in Somerset. The collar has a brushed interlining that floats rather than being fused, so the roll stays soft. A box pleat at the back, a single chest pocket and rounded cuffs complete a simple design. It works with tailoring or on its own with casual trousers.

Miles 120s White Broadcloth
We chose a fine white two-ply cotton broadcloth because it is the closest Proper Cloth match to a light, smooth white poplin with no texture. To keep the soft roll of the original collar, we set a soft Ivy button-down collar along with a single chest pocket, one-button cuffs and mother of pearl buttons. The original's point pocket, rounded cuffs, straight hem and box pleat had no direct match among the options we used. We chose an angled pocket, barrel cuffs, a shallow curved hem and a split yoke.
A 100% cotton broadcloth woven for Proper Cloth from 120s two-ply yarns in both warp and weft. It is a very lightweight plain weave with a smooth, silky hand and a clean surface with no texture. It is fairly sheer for a white shirting and creases easily, though the two-ply yarns help it last longer than most cloths this light.
