Bright Navy Linen Spread Collar
A lightweight summer shirt in bright navy linen, cut in Drake's regular fit and sewn in Somerset. The cloth is woven in Como for the house and chosen for the way linen softens, creases and fades with wear. It keeps the spread collar, single-needle seams and mother of pearl buttons of the firm's other shirting. It can be worn untucked with shorts or chinos, or tucked in under a summer suit or odd jacket.

Baird McNutt Slate Blue Irish Linen
We chose a fine, lightweight plain-weave linen from Baird McNutt, as the nearest solid blue linen on offer with the same slubbed, irregular surface. Proper Cloth had no bright navy in this quality, so we took a slate blue, which is softer and greyer than the original. We set a soft English spread collar, a front placket, one-button cuffs, a single chest pocket, a curved hem and mother of pearl buttons to follow the original. The pocket comes in Proper Cloth's angled cut, and the shirt has a split yoke and a sleeve placket button.
A 100% linen plain weave in 25s yarn, woven and finished by Baird McNutt in Northern Ireland. It is lightweight, soft in the hand and has linen's typical uneven, slubbed surface, in a plain slate blue. Like most linen, it creases readily and should soften with washing.
