Light Blue Check Cotton Two-Pocket Long Point Collar Work Shirt
Drake's made this as a work shirt in brushed cotton flannel, taking the practical outline of a utility shirt and finishing it with tailoring details. It is cut on the house's casual block, with a long point collar, a curved hem and a pair of flapped chest pockets that carry small things, so the trouser pockets stay empty. Mother of pearl buttons and single-needle seams give it a finer finish than its workwear origins suggest. It is meant to be worn untucked or loosely tucked on weekends, or as a light outer layer.
In Proper Cloth
Satoyama Slate Sky and Grey Plaid
We chose a brushed cotton flannel in a muted blue and grey plaid because it was the closest Proper Cloth cloth to the original's soft, light blue check. We matched the cut and finish: two flapped chest pockets, a point collar, one-button barrel cuffs, a front placket, a curved hem and mother of pearl buttons. Proper Cloth has no long point collar, so we used its soft point collar instead. The pockets are Proper Cloth's western style, which was the nearest option to pointed button-through flaps.
Satoyama is a 100% cotton flannel spun from 40s yarns. It is brushed on both sides and lighter than most winter flannels. Heathered yarns in slate blue and grey make a low-contrast plaid with a muted, mottled depth, and the cloth is light enough to wear from early autumn into spring.
