Ecru, Green and Purple Track Stripe Linen Spread Collar Shirt
This is a lightweight summer shirt in Italian linen, cut with a spread collar and patterned with a multi-colour track stripe. Linen softens and fades with wear, and the shirt is designed to take on a gently creased character. It is made in Somerset with single-needle seams and mother of pearl buttons. It can be worn loose over shorts or chinos, or tucked in beneath a summer suit or odd jacket.

Baird McNutt Sage and Ivory Stripe Irish Linen
We chose a lightweight Irish linen from Baird McNutt because it has the same plain linen texture and a sage stripe on a pale ground, which matches the strongest colours of the original. Proper Cloth had no stripe with the full ecru, green, mustard and lilac mix, so we took the simpler two-colour stripe and kept the sage and ivory. We matched the details: spread collar, one-button cuffs, French front, a single flap pocket, one-piece yoke, curved hem and mother of pearl buttons. We chose a soft collar and cuffs so the shirt stays as relaxed as the original's floating interlining.
This is a fine 26s plain-weave linen, woven and finished in Northern Ireland by Baird McNutt. It is light, soft and slubby, with a sage stripe on an ivory ground, and it should crease and soften with wear as linen does.
