Ecru, Purple and Green Stripe Linen-Cotton Long Point Collar Shirt
This is a summer shirt in a linen and cotton blend, striped in ecru with groups of green, purple, pink and yellow. It is cut to a regular silhouette and made in Somerset with single-needle seams and a long point collar on a floating interlining. The cloth is meant to soften, crease and fade with wear, and the shirt can be worn on its own in warm weather or under a summer jacket.

Baird McNutt Sage and Ivory Stripe Irish Linen
We chose a lightweight Irish linen from Baird McNutt for its slubby, irregular plain weave, which comes close to the rumpled surface of the original. Proper Cloth had no match for the multicoloured stripe, so we took a quieter sage and ivory stripe that keeps the pale ground and the green note. We matched the single flap chest pocket, the front placket, the one-button cuffs and the mother of pearl buttons, and used soft, unfused construction in place of the floating interlining. In place of the long point collar we chose Proper Cloth's soft point collar.
A pure linen plain weave in 26s yarn, woven and finished by Baird McNutt in Northern Ireland. It is light, soft in the hand and slubby in texture, with a sage and ivory stripe, and it creases easily and softens with washing.
