Red and Brown Check Brushed Cotton Two-Pocket Work Shirt
Drake's two-pocket work shirt borrows the plain, practical lines of workwear and makes them in its own Somerset workshop. This version is cut from a substantial brushed cotton in a large red and brown check. It has two buttoned flap pockets for carrying small things, a spread collar and rounded cuffs. Its single-needle sewing and mother of pearl buttons are the same as on the brand's other shirts. It is meant as a casual outer layer that can be worn in town or in the country.

Jackson Rust Brown and Gold Country Plaid
We chose a heavyweight Portuguese cotton twill in a large, muted plaid because its weight and warm earthy colours are close to the original's brushed check. We kept the spread collar, the two flap chest pockets, the one-button cuffs, the front placket and the mother of pearl buttons. The Proper Cloth cloth has a slubby, rustic surface rather than a brushed nap, and its colouring leans towards rust and gold rather than red and burgundy. Proper Cloth's options gave a barrel cuff, rounded flap pockets and quarter-inch stitching, so we used those in place of Drake's rounded cuff, pleated pockets and single-needle finish.
This is a heavyweight cotton twill woven in Portugal from thick 10s yarns. The slubby yarns give it an uneven, rustic texture. The pattern is a large plaid in rust brown and gold with a muted, vintage character. It is made to be hard-wearing and suits colder weather.
