Blue Narrow Stripe Poplin Club Collar Shirt
Drake's makes this shirt in its Somerset factory from a lightweight cotton poplin with a narrow blue and white stripe. The club collar has short, rounded points and a brushed interlining that floats rather than being fused, so it stays soft. Single rounded cuffs, one rounded patch pocket and whipped mother of pearl buttons finish it. The shirt is meant to work both in an office and away from one, with a tie or with the collar open.

Stanton Royal Blue Bengal Stripe 120s Broadcloth
We chose a fine Italian two-ply cotton broadcloth in a blue and white stripe, because broadcloth is close to poplin in its smooth, plain-woven surface and light weight. We matched the front placket, one-piece yoke, rounded chest pocket, single-button cuffs and mother of pearl buttons, and used soft construction for the collar, cuffs and placket, in keeping with the original's unfused collar. We did not reproduce the club collar; the shirt has a soft Franklin spread collar and a shallow curved hem. The stripe is a Bengal stripe, which is bolder than the Drake's narrow stripe.
An Italian broadcloth woven from 120s two-ply cotton. It is very light, smooth and crisp, with almost no visible texture, and has a royal blue and white Bengal stripe. Being so light, it creases more readily than a twill or pinpoint, but it irons well and can also be worn unironed after washing.
