Red Ticking Stripe Cotton Oxford Cloth Button-Down Shirt
This is a button-down shirt in red and white ticking-stripe oxford cloth, built on a pattern Drake's treats as central to its range. The idea goes back to the American oxford button-down of the last century, and Drake's version aims for the full roll of the collar that defined those early shirts. It is cut to a regular silhouette and made in the firm's own factory in Somerset with single-needle seams and floating interlinings. The shirt is meant for everyday wear, either on its own or under tailoring.

American Pima Red Stripe Oxford Cloth
We chose a red-striped oxford in American Pima cotton because it matches the original's colours, weave and all-cotton make-up. We set a soft unlined button-down collar and soft cuffs to keep the relaxed roll and easy handle of the original, and we kept the curved hem, single chest pocket and mother of pearl buttons. Proper Cloth's options led us to a barrel cuff with one button, an angled pocket and a split yoke. The cloth is also a heavier oxford than Drake's midweight.
The cloth is a heavy, dense oxford woven from American Pima cotton in 80s two-ply yarns, with a matte finish and a soft hand. It has red stripes on a white ground and is made to soften and improve with washing and wear, much like the oxfords of the 1960s.
