Pink Piqué Cotton Polo Shirt
A short-sleeved polo in pink cotton piqué, made in Portugal. It follows the classic tennis shirt pattern, with a ribbed collar, a two-button placket and a stepped hem that is longer at the back. Mother of pearl buttons give it a finer finish than most knitted polos. It is a warm-weather staple that sits comfortably under a summer jacket or on its own with chinos.

In Proper Cloth
Amalfi Pink Stretch Pique
We chose a pink piqué from Proper Cloth's Amalfi range because it comes closest to the colour and honeycomb texture of the original. Proper Cloth makes shirts from woven cloth, so the knitted piqué and ribbed trims could not be reproduced exactly. Instead we set a soft one-piece collar, a popover front, cuffed short sleeves and a polo hem to keep the shape of a polo. We kept the mother of pearl buttons and left off the chest pocket, as on the original.
A woven dobby piqué made in Italy by the family mill Grandi & Rubinelli, in the honeycomb structure the Italians call nido d'ape. It is 97% cotton with 3% elastane, in a light pink solid with a fine slub and a slight sheen. It is a heavier cloth with good body and a soft, giving drape.
