Green Cotton Flannel Button-Down Shirt
Drake's olive green flannel button-down is its long-standing button-down shirt in brushed cotton for autumn and winter. The design goes back to the soft-rolling button-down collar of early twentieth-century shirtmaking. It is cut to a regular silhouette in the Somerset factory, with floating interlinings and single-needle seams so the collar and cuffs stay supple. It is meant for the cooler months and sits naturally with corduroy, Shetland knitwear and heavier tweeds.

Canclini Pine Melange Twill Beacon Flannel
We chose a brushed Canclini cotton flannel in pine green melange because it comes closest to the olive tone and soft surface of the original. We set a soft ivy button-down collar, a soft one-button barrel cuff, a soft front placket, a shallow curved hem and mother of pearl buttons to follow the Drake's details. The Proper Cloth cloth is a heavier twill with a mottled melange colour rather than a plain solid, and the pocket we chose is an angled patch pocket, because the pen-holder pocket is not offered.
The cloth is a heavyweight brushed cotton flannel woven by Canclini near Lake Como, in a twill weave with 50s two-ply yarns. Its pine green melange has a slightly varied, heathered look, and the hand is dense and soft but still breathable, so it works worn alone or layered.
