Green Wool Four-Pocket Camp Collar Work Shirt
This is a dark green work shirt from Drake's, made in Somerset in a heavy brushed wool flannel. The idea comes from workwear, and the shirt is built to be useful: four patch pockets hold small things so the trouser pockets need not, and the open camp collar leaves room to move. Fisheye corozo buttons and single-needle stitching mark it as a carefully made piece. It has a relaxed, boxy cut with a straight hem, so it can be worn untucked as an overshirt or on its own in cooler months.

Canclini Pine Melange Twill Beacon Flannel
We chose a heavyweight brushed cotton flannel from Canclini in a pine green melange, which comes close to the original's deep green and soft, napped surface, though it is cotton rather than wool. We kept the one-piece collar so it sits open like a camp collar, along with a straight hem and natural corozo buttons. Proper Cloth's options led us to a French front instead of a placket, barrel cuffs with one button instead of square cuffs, and rounded pockets with flaps but no buttons, which was the closest match available to the plain rounded patch pockets.
A heavyweight cotton flannel woven by Canclini near Lake Como from 50s two-ply yarns, with a twill weave and a dense, brushed, soft hand. The pine green melange is mixed in tone, so the solid colour has some depth to it, and the cloth is warm without being stifling, which suits it to wearing alone or layered.
