Rust Check Cotton Two-Pocket Long Point Collar Work Shirt
A work shirt in a large rust check, cut from brushed cotton flannel on Drake's casual block and made in Italy. It takes its shape from the utility shirt, with two flapped chest pockets that keep small things to hand, and pairs that with a long point collar and mother of pearl buttons. The single-needle seams and rounded one-button cuffs show more care than a workwear shirt usually gets. It is meant to be worn untucked, or open over a T-shirt, from the workshop through to the weekend.
In Proper Cloth
Jackson Orange and Brown Country Plaid
We chose a heavyweight Portuguese cotton twill in a large orange and brown plaid, as it was the nearest match in Proper Cloth's range to the scale and warm colour of the rust check. It has a slubby texture where the original is brushed, but it is a similarly rugged country cloth. We kept the twin pointed flap pockets, curved hem, single-button cuffs and mother of pearl buttons. Proper Cloth does not offer the original's long point collar or rounded cuff here, so we used its soft point collar and a soft one-button barrel cuff.
A heavyweight cotton twill woven in Portugal from thick 10s yarns, with a slubby, rustic surface. It comes in a large plaid of orange and brown with a vintage look, and it is a hard-wearing cloth suited to casual wear in cold weather.
