Green Satin Cotton Popover Work Shirt
Drake's popover work shirt here takes a more considered form, made in Somerset from an olive cotton satin spun from slub yarns. The design looks back to mid-century military and work shirts from the house archive, and pairs them with a longer collar and corozo buttons for a slightly smarter finish. Twin flapped chest pockets, a pleated one-piece yoke and a locker loop keep the practical details of a work shirt. It is meant to sit between issue clothing and a dressier shirt, and to be worn casually.

Japanese Olive Cotton Selvedge Twill
We chose a solid olive Japanese selvedge twill because it comes closest to the colour and the plain, workmanlike character of the original, though it is a twill rather than a satin. We kept the popover front, one-piece yoke, single-button barrel cuffs, curved hem and natural corozo buttons. In place of Drake's box-pleated patch pockets we used Proper Cloth's Safari pockets, which are flapped field-shirt pockets. Proper Cloth's Soft Point collar replaces the long point collar, and the design as listed has no yoke pleat or locker loop.
A solid olive green twill in 100% cotton, woven in Japan on selvedge looms from 20s single-ply yarn. It is medium heavyweight with a soft, hardwearing hand. The shirt is washed after it is sewn, so it starts out broken in and the seams pucker slightly.
