Navy Linen Twill Cuban Shirt
Drake's version of the guayabera, the long-established shirt of Cuba and the wider Latin American world, worn for comfort in heat. It keeps the familiar elements of the type, with a camp collar, a four-pocket front and vertical pleats, and cuts them in a washed indigo linen twill. Fisheye mother-of-pearl buttons give a quiet finish. It is a light shirt meant for summer, worn loose and casual, and is made in Portugal.

Navy Washed Linen
We chose a washed navy pure linen as the nearest match to the original's faded indigo linen, accepting a plain weave because a comparable navy linen twill was not available. We set a soft one-piece collar to give the open, camp-style neck, added flap pockets without buttons, one-button barrel cuffs, a straight hem and mother-of-pearl buttons. Proper Cloth's options do not include guayabera pleats, so the front is left plain with a French front in place of a sewn placket.
A single-ply 14s pure linen in a plain weave, light in weight with an open, slubby texture that breathes well. The navy is a washed, softened shade rather than a deep one, and shirts in this cloth are washed after sewing, which leaves a soft hand and some puckering at the seams. It creases readily and is meant to be worn that way.
