Navy Cotton Twill Two-Pocket Work Shirt
Drake's two-pocket work shirt takes the plain utility shirt of the workshop and makes it in a navy Japanese cotton twill, finished in Somerset. It is cut with a long point collar, a curved hem and single-button cuffs, and has two pointed flap pockets on the chest for carrying small things. Fisheye mother of pearl buttons and single-needle seams give it the finish of a dress shirt, and it can be worn on its own or as a light layer.

Lafayette Navy 80s Twill
We chose a solid navy cotton twill to match the colour and weave of the original, accepting a finer, lighter cloth than Drake's midweight Japanese twill because the twill and the plain navy mattered more. We set western-style flap pockets on both sides of the chest, a one-button barrel cuff, a front placket, a shallow curved hem and mother of pearl buttons to follow the original. Proper Cloth's soft point collar is our nearest match to the long point collar, and we used its soft unfused construction in place of the original's brushed floating interlining.
A fine navy twill from Proper Cloth's Lafayette range, woven from 80s two-ply cotton yarns with a smooth finish. It is lighter than a typical work-shirt twill and drapes cleanly, and the two-ply yarn helps it hold up to regular wear across the year.
