Navy Contrast Stitch Cotton-Linen Two-Pocket Work Shirt
Drake's two-pocket work shirt takes the practical shirts of the workshop and refines them for ordinary wear. This version is cut from a Japanese cotton and linen blend in solid navy, made in Italy with single-needle construction, and set off by white contrast top-stitching. A pair of buttoned flap pockets on the chest holds small essentials, and the curved hem allows it to be worn tucked in or left out over trousers at the weekend.

Portuguese Navy Cotton and Linen Oxford
We chose a navy cotton and linen oxford from a Portuguese mill because it matches the solid dark colour and the textured, slightly dry hand of a cotton-linen work shirt, though with considerably more linen in the blend. We set a point collar, single-button barrel cuffs, a front placket, two pointed-flap western pockets, a curved hem and navy corozo buttons to follow the original. The recorded design gives only a quarter-inch stitch setting and does not specify white contrast thread, so that defining detail of the original is not confirmed here.
A 55% cotton, 45% linen oxford woven in Portugal from 38s yarns, of medium weight, in a dark, saturated solid navy. The linen adds a light slub and visible texture while the oxford weave keeps the cloth substantial and fairly opaque; it breathes well in warm weather and is expected to soften and age with wear.
